How World War I Was Started.

How WWI started.

WWI was started when Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated. To start with, the assassins failed. You would think that Ferdinand would go into hiding. But instead, he goes to the hospital where the injured officers are. But, the driver makes a wrong turn when going there, and by sheer coincidence, he ends up by one of the assassins. Who shoots him. And starts the war known as World War I. Austria-Hungary are extremely annoyed about this, and are sure that the Serbian government has something to do with it, which they may have. So they send Serbia a list with impossible demands, and when Serbia refuses, Austria declares war on Serbia, and teams up with Germany. Russia is friends with Serbia, and also friends with France, who is kind of friends with britain. But Britain doesn’t join in at first, which is great for germany. They know that because Russia is so big, it will take them a long time for them to prepare for war, so they plan on sending all their troops to France, and then invading Russia once France is taken. The only problem is that France had heaps of forts bordering germany. So Germany decided it would be a good idea to go through Belgium and flank the french instead. But that didn’t happen. Germany was stuck in battles with Belgium, while Britain sent through troops to help france. Now, this is getting into the battling, so I won’t say anymore. I hope you have enjoyed reading this and learned something from this piece of writing.
